France 2016

Monday / Lundi

Bonjour!

We landed in Dunkirk after a smooth crossing and drove onto Boulogne.  After a very swift lunch, we visited Nausicaa Sealife Centre and were wowed by the spectacle inside; especially the trawler simulator!

Late afternoon we boarded the coach again and made our onward journey to Hardelot Plage and the PGL Centre.  When we arrived there was no time to lose as dinner was ready for us. Dinner done  and time for a tour of the centre and night time activities in the forest.

Tuesday/ Mardi

Today started with a few children insisting running club should go ahead. Persuaded by Harriet, Danny, Ms Welch and a hardy few, we ventured out at 7.30 am for a bracing seafront run.

After a big breakfast of 'petit d'jeuneur Francais', we headed off to the boulangerie to find out how to make traditional 'pain' and of course croissants!  We were rewarded with our own samples to try.

Lunch was a picnic on Hardelot Plage. We enjoyed beach combing, playing sports and practising writing in French in the sand.

In the afternoon, we drove to a goat farm. Madame explained the process of making cheeses and took us on a tour of the goats. Ms Welch requested three for school in blanc, noir and marron to keep the grass short. Sadly, Carl our coach driver said they couldn't come back as they would eat the seats.

Evening entertainment was the egg rocket challenge which seemed to involve black bin bags, marshmallows  and eggs.

Wednesday / Mecredi

We had a great time at Boulogne market on Wednesday; here are some of the children showing off their bling! We then went on a town trail had, team games and a disco! The last photo is of the whole team dabbing! We are enjoying the lovely weather here in France.

Thursday / Jeudi

Today we have had a lot of fun visiting a chocolate factory, building sandcastles and playing football on the lovely wide sandy beach and eating 'l'escargot'!
